Civil Construction Specialist
Council is seeking to appoint a permanent full time Civil Construction Specialist to contribute to Council’s success.

9-day fortnight (currently trialling a 4-day work week)
About the Role
This position is responsible for the delivery of technical and project support within the Roads Program Delivery business unit, supervision of civil works programs within the Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Road Maintenance Performance Contract (RMPC), Minor Infrastructure Contract and Transport Infrastructure Contract (TIC) fields. Including, Gladstone Regional Councils (GRC’s) Capital and Operational programs.
Your role will include:
Promoting a positive Workplace Health and Safety culture and ensuring active compliance with safety, environmental and quality requirements.
Identifying opportunities for innovation, continuous improvement and operational excellence across civil works programs.
Contributing to a high-performing, customer-focused team committed to delivering value for the Gladstone Region community.
You will bring:
Demonstrated relevant experience in civil construction with knowledge of engineering and technical principle applications.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including written (English) to engage with customers and employees.
Proven time management, prioritisation and organisational skills in meeting deadlines.
Proven problem-solving and negotiation skills and experience resolving issues.
Discipline knowledge of multiple guidelines and standards applicable to industry, including environmental requirements, cultural heritage, Main Roads specifications/ guidelines and the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) or similar.
Proficient skills in reading and applying civil engineering drawings, specifications and standards.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Proficient keyboard skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and operating corporate business systems.
Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.

This position requires immunisation against Hepatitis A/B and Tetanus.
