HomeFront Australia is a veteran-founded home services organisation supporting clients across the community. Our head office in Milton is where a lot of that work comes together behind the scenes, and we are looking for a Junior Office Assistant to help keep it running like clockwork.

A Day in This Role

You arrive and open up. Lights on, air-conditioning checked, the space looking the way it should before anyone else walks in. First job of the morning: get the coffee machine going and reset the kitchen, because nothing starts the day off worse than a queue for coffee that does not work.

Mid-morning might mean a grocery delivery to unpack and put away, a stocktake to run, or the PO Box to collect and sort. You are the friendly face people see at the front, whether that is a staff member with a quick question or a visitor who has just walked in.

Some days you are setting up the meeting room for the Tuesday leadership catch-up or the Wednesday All Informed session, sorting catering, and clearing up after. Other days it is watering the plants, checking the fridge is stocked, or working through your rotation of the month’s tasks, window cleaning, stationery orders, or a gas bottle check.

By the end of the day, you do a final walk-through, lock up, and head home knowing the place is ready to go again tomorrow. No two days are quite the same, but every day matters.

What You Will Be Doing

• Opening and closing the office each day, including security, presentation, and basic building checks
• Keeping the kitchen and coffee machine running and properly cleaned
• Receiving deliveries, managing stock, and keeping supplies topped up
• Setting up and supporting internal meetings, including catering and clean-up
• General facilities care: plants, fridges, and the small things that keep a workplace pleasant
• A rotating monthly schedule of extra tasks that keeps the role varied
• Being a warm, reliable first point of contact for staff and visitors

About You

• Friendly, reliable, and genuinely hands-on
• Comfortable with a structured routine and some physical tasks (light lifting, stocking, cleaning)
• Great attention to detail, the kind of person who notices when something is not quite right
• Punctual, with a strong sense of ownership over your space
• A confident, helpful communicator
• Own car and driver’s licence preferred; this is an on-site role, not remote

• Full-time, Monday to Friday, on-site at our Milton head office
• $55,000 to $59,000 per year plus superannuation
