Accredited Mental Health Clinician

St John of God, Social Outreach, Mental Wellbeing Service:

We are seeking applications for a Psychologist or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (grade 2) to join our Mental Wellbeing Service on a permanent part-time basis in Ballarat, Victoria.

The Grade 2 clinician is a member of a multi-disciplinary team that provides evidenced-based, person centred, trauma informed mental health care to the clients of St John of God Health Care (SJGHC) Mental Wellbeing Service.

You will be responsible for the assessment and treatment planning of an individual client caseload, including thorough risk assessments. You will also be working as part of a multidisciplinary team. Our program is also open to the development and implementation innovative group programs for our client group. Our consumer group include those with mild to moderate mental health conditions.

All applicants must be eligible for a Medicare Provider Number to enable access to the Better Access to Mental Health Scheme.    

The Position

• Provides advanced level psychological services including a range of individualised and group clinical care based on professional training reflecting current ethical clinical practice as required.

• Provides comprehensive assessment and care planning monitoring consumer progress adjusting treatment accordingly for complex management.

• Liaise with multi-disciplinary team to promote effective communication and treatment planning.

• Familiar and complies with legal, ethical responsibilities to consumers, visitors and staff, inclusive of maintaining confidentiality.

You will have experience providing group programs and individual therapy to adult consumers presenting with a myriad of concerns, demonstrate clinical leadership skills and ability to undertake quality improvement activities.

Successful applicants will have tertiary qualifications in Psychology or Social Work and current registration with the Psychology Board of Australia or AASW. Experience running groups and providing individual therapy using CBT, DBT and Schema-Focused Therapy will be highly regarded.

• Salary: Grade 2 Psychology $86 526.76-$99 643.03/ Grade 2 Social Worker

• Permanent part-time, working 22.8 hours per week
