About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic individual with a background in healthcare and experience in quality improvement and management to join the team in the position of Manager/Officer of Quality, Compliance & Risk. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Manager/Officer of Quality, Compliance & Risk will lead the coordination of quality improvement initiatives, projects, and activities to maintain client safety, accreditation standards, regulatory compliance, in accordance with the mission, vision and values of the organisation. The Manager/Officer of Quality, Compliance & Risk will provide strategic advice to the CEO and present findings and recommendations to the executive leadership team, facilitating data-driven decision-making and quality improvement initiatives. The Manager/Officer of Quality, Compliance & Risk will be the point of contact for all external audits and will oversee the internal auditing agenda as well as internal coaching and training as part of continuous quality improvement.
Key responsibilities
Provide strategic oversight of and assist in developing clinical governance frameworks and processes
Provide effective leadership in quality, compliance and risk management, ensuring staff are properly trained, and appropriate actions are taken to mitigate risks
Lead all accreditation processes
Facilitate ongoing implementation and monitoring of organisation-wide quality improvement and promotion of risk management to support strategic imperatives
Consult with managers in quality improvements to build capacity and capability
Provide leadership and expert advice on governance, risk, compliance, quality, and organisational assurance matters
Lead the development, implementation and review of the Risk Management Framework
Maintain the organisational risk register and ensure risks are appropriately identified, assessed, mitigated and monitored
Lead organisational compliance activities across all service areas
Lead the Quality Management Framework across the organisation
About you
Degree qualification in Health Management, Public Health, Business, Law, Governance, Risk Management, Quality Management, Nursing, Allied Health, or a related discipline
Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field or significant equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior quality, compliance, governance or risk management role
Demonstrated experience within healthcare, mental health, research, clinical trials, community services or a regulated environment
Experience leading organisational quality improvement and compliance programs
Experience managing accreditation processes and audits
Demonstrated success in developing governance and risk management frameworks
Experience supporting Boards, Committees and Executive leadership teams
Strategic leadership and organisational influence
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
