About the role
St Patrick's College Townsville is seeking an exceptional and passionate rowing professional to join our community as Head of Rowing commencing in 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and grow a respected rowing program that provides students with opportunities to participate, develop and excel in the sport. Working closely with students, families and staff, you will foster a culture of commitment, teamwork, wellbeing and sporting excellence while supporting students to achieve their personal best both on and off the water.
About the Role
As Head of Rowing, you will provide leadership and oversight of the College's rowing program, supporting student athletes from participation through to high performance pathways. You will be responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of training, competition and development opportunities whilst ensuring a strong culture of safety, inclusion and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and developing the College's rowing program.
Planning and delivering training programs for students across a range of skill levels.
Coaching and mentoring student athletes to support their growth and performance.
Coordinating participation in regattas, competitions and rowing events.
Managing rowing equipment, facilities and operational requirements.
Monitoring student progress and maintaining performance records.
Building positive relationships with students, families, coaches and the broader rowing community.
Promoting a culture aligned with the values and expectations of St Patrick's College Townsville.
About You
You are an experienced and motivated rowing professional who:
Has demonstrated rowing coaching experience and a passion for developing young people.
Brings strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
Can inspire commitment, teamwork and excellence in student athletes.
Builds positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.
Demonstrates a commitment to student wellbeing and child safeguarding.
Is willing to work flexibly to support training, regattas and other rowing commitments.
Is committed to the values and mission of Catholic education.
