An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Finance Team Leader to join our collaborative Finance team at Kennedys. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will lead a high-performing team while driving continuous improvement across financial processes, controls and reporting.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines operational finance with strategic business partnering. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, providing financial insights that support commercial decision-making and business growth.
About The Team
Our Finance team supports the firm globally, delivering financial reporting, operational support and commercial insights that help drive business performance. In Australia, you will join a close-knit team of 10 finance professionals where knowledge-sharing, continuous improvement and professional development are actively encouraged.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor and develop the Finance teamPrepare and analyse financial results, KPIs and business performance metricsSupport budgeting, forecasting and business planning activitiesOversee payroll review processes and liaise with the external payroll providerDrive process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilityMaintain robust financial controls, governance and compliance frameworksAuthorise payments and support audit and statutory reporting requirementsBuild strong relationships with various stakeholders across the business
About You
We are seeking an analytical problem solver, who has a proactive mindset and genuine passion for continuous improvement.
Other Skills And Attributes Required Are
CA or CPA qualification and a degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related fieldExperience in a senior finance, financial accounting or business partnering roleStrong financial reporting, budgeting and cashflow management experienceA proven track record of leading and developing teamsAdvanced Excel skills and strong financial systems knowledgeExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience within a professional services or law firm environment will be highly regarded
