We are seeking a passionate and motivated Registered Nurses to join our dynamic Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab) at St John of God Ballarat Hospital on a casual basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly skilled and collaborative cardiac team, providing high-quality, patient-centred care to patients undergoing a range of cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care to patients before, during and following cardiac procedures.

• Complete comprehensive pre- and post-procedure clinical assessments and develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans.

• Prepare patients for cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensuring all relevant clinical and procedural requirements are met.

• Provide nursing support during procedures, working collaboratively with cardiologists and the wider Cath Lab team.

• Monitor patients closely, including cardiac rhythm, vital signs and clinical condition, and respond appropriately to changes or complications.

• Administer medications safely and effectively, including medications associated with cardiac procedures and patient recovery.

• Provide post-procedure care, including monitoring for complications, wound and vascular access site assessment and ongoing clinical observation.

• Educate and support patients and families regarding procedures, recovery, medications and ongoing care requirements.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and provide clear, timely clinical handover.

• Work collaboratively with cardiologists, cardiac technicians, anaesthetic staff, nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes.

• Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control, clinical safety and procedural practice.

• Contribute to a positive team culture and exceptional patient experience.

To succeed in this role, you will have well-developed clinical assessment, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide safe, responsive and compassionate care within a fast-paced cardiac environment. You will demonstrate sound clinical judgement, strong prioritisation and problem-solving skills, together with a commitment to teamwork and clinical excellence.

You will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, along with recent clinical experience in an acute hospital environment. Previous experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab, cardiac, coronary care or perioperative setting will be highly regarded; however, we are also interested in Registered Nurses with strong acute clinical skills who are looking to develop their career within cardiac nursing and procedural services.

• Casual rate: $53.90 to $68.03 per hour (inclusive of casual loading), plus12% superannuation
