Position Overview

ANC is seeking expressions of interest from motivated and experienced Transport Allocators to join our talent pool.

This is a hands-on operational role where you will play a critical part in supporting and enabling our Delivery Professionals (drivers) by optimally allocating transport resources, planning routes using transport systems, and ensuring the successful delivery of our customer promise.

This position requires flexibility, as it includes working in a rotating roster with weekend shifts. As a key member of our team, you’ll help us fulfill our promise of delivering excellent outcomes for both our clients and their customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

Allocation & Scheduling: Manage the daily schedule of deliveries, vehicle requirements, and route planning using transport and delivery management systems, ensuring optimal resource utilisation in line with volume and operational requirements.
Systems & Technology: Utilise operational platforms and digital tools to monitor delivery performance, manage real-time allocation activities, and support efficient decision-making across the delivery network.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth execution of daily delivery operations.
Problem Solving: Handle operational issues on the day of delivery, ensuring timely resolution of any disruptions or challenges.
Customer Focus: Support the customer experience by ensuring that deliveries meet or exceed expectations.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all allocations adhere to the principles of the Chain of Responsibility (COR) and safety standards.
Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the customer experience.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of delivery schedules and any relevant operational metrics.

What We’re Looking For

Experience: 3+ years of industry experience in transport or logistics, with strong familiarity with Transport Management Systems (TMS) (Preferred).
Technical Acumen: Strong capability to learn and effectively use operational technology platforms, with the ability to interpret system data and leverage digital tools to support allocation, planning and operational decision-making.
Customer Mindset: A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a strong commitment to service excellence.
Autonomy & Teamwork: Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Organisation: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities effectively.
Problem Solving: Ability to resolve issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and customer satisfaction.
Knowledge of local & interstate logistics: Understanding of local and interstate capital city logistics (advantageous).
