An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Truck Sales Representative to join our Sales Team, based at Chipping Norton, NSW.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for growing Western Star sales across your designated territory by developing new business, managing key customer relationships and providing customers with the right truck for their operation.

You’ll represent the Western Star X-Series range, including the 47X, 48X and 49X, working with customers across a range of demanding applications. From understanding their payload and application requirements through to specification, negotiation and delivery, you’ll be the trusted sales partner throughout the entire process.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being out in the market, building genuine relationships and talking trucks with people who know and understand the industry.

In this role you will:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with fleet, owner-driver, retail and key industry customers.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow Western Star sales and market share.
• Manage the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and customer consultation through to quoting, negotiation and delivery.
• Understand customer operations and recommend the right Western Star truck and specification for their application.
• Provide customers with expert advice on truck capabilities, specifications, applications and operating requirements.
• Build a strong pipeline of opportunities and proactively manage your territory to achieve sales targets.
• Work closely with internal sales, service, parts and operations teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Maintain accurate customer, pipeline and sales activity information within the CRM system.
• Represent Western Star and Penske at customer visits, industry events, exhibitions and networking opportunities.
• Stay up to date with the Western Star product range, market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements.
• Contribute to sales strategies and initiatives that support continued growth across the NSW market.

About You:

You’re a driven sales professional who understands that selling trucks is about more than just moving a vehicle - it’s about understanding the customer’s business and providing a solution that works for them.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Previous experience in truck, heavy vehicle, transport, equipment or related sales.
• Strong understanding of the transport industry and the operating environments of heavy vehicle customers.
• A proven ability to build strong customer relationships, generate new business and achieve sales targets.
• Strong commercial, negotiation and communication skills.
• A genuine interest in trucks and the ability to confidently discuss truck applications, specifications and customer requirements.
• Experience managing a sales territory and developing a pipeline of new and existing business.
• Experience using CRM systems to manage customer relationships and sales activity.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work autonomously while being part of a collaborative sales team.
• Existing relationships across the NSW transport and heavy vehicle industry will be highly regarded.
