About the Opportunity
Based in NSW, Mapei Australia is seeking a Specifications Manager to join the team. The Specifications Manager will be responsible for driving product specification outcomes by influencing architects, consultants and project stakeholders, ensuring Mapei systems are specified and retained throughout the project lifecycle to support sales growth. This role is accountable for influencing project specifications at the design stage to create a qualified pipeline of opportunities and supporting the conversion of those opportunities into revenue.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Develop compliant, project-specific specifications to ensure Mapei systems are accurately represented in design documentation and reduce substitution risk during procurement and constructionIdentify and track construction projects from early design phase to influence product selection before competitor engagement and maximise specification win ratesMaintain Mapei specifications throughout the project lifecycle to protect pipeline value and ensure continuity from design through to installation and saleImplement specification strategies aligned with company objectives to maximise specification opportunities and project conversion in key market sectorsBuild and maintain relationships with architects, consultants, developers and contractors to position Mapei as a trusted technical advisor and increase likelihood of repeat specificationDeliver presentations, CPDs and technical presentations and product education sessions to architects, engineers and other key stakeholdersEngage early with design stakeholders to shape project requirements and embed Mapei products before specifications are finalised.
What You Bring
Bachelors or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, design or equivalentMinimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position, ideally in a related industryAbility to read, write, understand and communicate technical documentationMust be self-motivated and able to work independently and in a teamMust be able to communicate professionally, including written responses and presentingHigh level of attention to detailWell-developed planning, organising and time management skillsValid and current motor vehicle driver licence.
