The Opportunity
We have a permanent full-time opportunity for an Oncology Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Icon Cancer Centre. In this role, you’ll work alongside an experienced team, receive full oncology pharmacy training, and collaborate with a broader clinical team to provide exceptional pharmacy services to cancer patients. We are also conveniently located within a short walking distance from Westfield Chermside.

About the Role
As an Oncology Pharmacy Technician, you’ll be part of a dedicated team ensuring patients receive timely and accurate access to cancer-care medications.
  
Your key responsibilities include:

• Providing high-quality pharmacy services to hospital staff, patients, and customers
• Dispensing and supplying medications for hospital and cancer patients
• Coordinating imprest and pharmacy inventory management
• Entering patient-specific data into the pharmacy database
• Assisting with patient account enquiries and resolving issues
• Liaising with hospital staff, doctors, and associated personnel
• Supporting the pharmacy team with general administrative tasks

  
About the Site
Icon Cancer Centre Chermside has been delivering exceptional cancer care to the Brisbane community since 2008. Located within the Chermside Medical Complex, the centre features a 26-chair day oncology hospital and offers a comprehensive range of services, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, haematology treatments, supportive therapies, and access to clinical trials, ensuring patients can receive world-class cancer care close to home.

About You
Hospital pharmacy or oncology experience is highly valued but not essential, as full training will be provided to aid your transition into this new space. However, previous experience in pharmacy dispensing is required for a confident start.
  
Essential requirements:

• Minimum 1-year dispensing experience in an Australian pharmacy
• Australian working rights, valid for at least 12-months from date of employment
• The ability to work autonomously in a team environment

  
Desirable skills & experience:

• Dispensary Technician Certificate or equivalent as recognised by the Pharmacy Board of Australia
• Experience in hospital and/or oncology pharmacy.
