The Opportunity:

We are seeking an energetic, results-orientated Event Coordinator (Pathway & Competitions) to play a vital role in the development and planning of National Championships and International Events across the country. Based at the State Basketball Centre in Wantirna South, Victoria, this permanent full-time position requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently while ensuring a high level of engagement with key stakeholders and participants.

The role will be responsible for the development of bespoke and curated regulations, schedules and discipline processes, enhancing High Performance and Pathway progress in line with BA strategies, along with supporting incoming National Teams as part of international matches within Australia.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Championship development and planning with internal and external stakeholders, focussing on collaboration and integration
• Coordinate championship team entry processes, grading activities and competition data administration
• Coordinate volunteer identification, recruitment, engagement and training in conjunction with State & Territory Organisations and local Associations
• Support event enhancement opportunities for participants and spectators
• Support incoming team logistics for international events - introducing and coordinating accommodation, ground transport and provisions in line with FIBA protocols or participation agreement as applicable
• Support run sheet development and integration to maximise fan and team experience while balancing FIBA and basketball competition requirements
• Management of event assets including inventory/stock management and freight logistics
• Maintain strong discipline to budget and detailed planning processes
• Support the administration of the Player Transfer System in line with BA’s Foreign Player Policy

Experience and Requirements:

• A degree or diploma in Event Management, Sports Management, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience working in large-scale sporting competitions or events.
• Basketball experience at a representative / high level (playing or officiating), or strong technical understanding of basketball.
• Experience with generating competition fixtures, policies and regulations.
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must hold a Working with Children Check or Working with Vulnerable People Certification.
• Must be available to work outside of traditional business hours and available to travel interstate when required (often during school holidays).
