About the role
Are you someone who genuinely enjoys looking after people?
Do you love great coffee, good food, busy cafés, and making someone's day just a little better?
Stitch Coffee is looking for experienced Hospitality All-Rounders to join our teams across QVB, Sydney Fish Market and Broadway.
We’re looking for people who bring warmth, energy, curiosity and professionalism to every shift — people who care about the details, enjoy working as part of a team, and understand that great hospitality is about much more than simply taking an order.
At Stitch, coffee is more than a drink — it is part of an experience.
We source and roast specialty coffee from around the world and serve it across cafés designed around quality, creativity and connection.
But exceptional coffee is only part of what makes a great café.
We believe great hospitality comes from genuinely caring about the person in front of you.
Generosity guides how we serve.
That might mean remembering a regular’s order, helping someone discover a new coffee, offering thoughtful advice, noticing when someone needs assistance, or calmly putting things right when something hasn’t gone to plan.
Our goal is simple:
Create guests, not transactions.
As a Stitch Hospitality All-Rounder, you’ll work across different areas of the café and help create a consistently warm, professional and memorable experience.
You will:
Welcome every customer with warmth, professionalism and genuine care.
Connect naturally with customers and read the moment — knowing when someone wants a quick coffee and when they would enjoy learning more.
Prepare and serve coffee, signature drinks and food with care and attention to detail.
Confidently recommend coffee beans, drinks, food and brewing equipment when appropriate.
Help customers discover new coffees and flavours without making the interaction feel scripted or pressured.
Work with urgency during busy service while never making the customer feel rushed.
Handle complaints, mistakes and difficult interactions calmly, professionally and empathetically.
Take ownership when something goes wrong and help find a solution.
Jump willingly between coffee, floor service, retail, food service, cleaning and other café duties.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and presentation throughout the shift.
Support opening, closing and general café operations.
Work collaboratively with your team and contribute positively to the culture of the store.
Experience matters, but the way you approach hospitality matters just as much.
We’re looking for people who:
Genuinely enjoy serving and connecting with people.
Notice customers rather than waiting to be asked for help.
Naturally greet people warmly and make them feel welcome.
Enjoy recommending something they genuinely believe a customer will enjoy.
Stay calm, patient and generous when service becomes busy.
Move quickly and efficiently without becoming rushed or impatient.
Care about cleanliness, presentation and the small details.
Take responsibility rather than looking for someone else to solve a problem.
Work well as part of a team and are willing to help wherever needed.
Respond positively to feedback and want to keep improving.
Are curious about coffee, food and hospitality.
Take pride in doing things properly.
Ideally, you will have:
Experience working in a busy café, restaurant or hospitality environment.
Confidence working in fast-paced service.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A genuine interest in specialty coffee, food and café culture.
Availability to work weekends and public holidays.
Previous barista experience, particularly in specialty coffee, is highly regarded.
However, hospitality instinct, attitude, reliability and willingness to learn matter enormously to us.
If you are an exceptional hospitality person who wants to become better at coffee, we want to hear from you.
Because our cafés are busiest on weekends and public holidays, applicants must:
Be available to work weekends, including at least one weekend day regularly.
Be available to work public holidays when rostered.
Be able to start shifts from 6:00am when required.
Have reliable transport and the ability to consistently arrive on time for early starts.
Please only apply if these availability requirements work for you.
Stitch is growing, and we want our people to grow with us.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
Work with high-quality specialty coffee and interesting products.
Learn more about coffee, brewing, flavour and hospitality.
Work alongside passionate and experienced hospitality professionals.
Develop your skills through ongoing coaching and training.
Build genuine relationships with customers and regulars.
Be part of a growing Australian coffee company.
With new Stitch locations continuing to open, there are genuine opportunities for strong team members to progress.
For people who demonstrate great hospitality, leadership, reliability and coffee skills, we actively look for opportunities to develop them into roles such as:
Head Barista
Supervisor
Assistant Manager
Store Manager
and other leadership positions within Stitch.
We want people who are interested in building something with us — not simply filling shifts.
Send your resume to ••••@stitch.coffee.
Along with your resume, tell us in a few sentences:
What does great hospitality mean to you?
We’d love to hear what you believe makes someone walk out of a café wanting to come back.
