🔎 The OpportunityWe are seeking experienced Project Engineers to join Tier 1 major infrastructure projects with a strong focus on the building sector (commercial, institutional, high-rise, mixed-use, or major facilities construction).
Role Details📍 Location: Sydney, NSW 🏗 Discipline: Building – Tier 1 Major Infrastructure Project💼 Employment Type: Contract (via BOS), with potential for Permanent placement🚀 Start: Immediate start preferred✈️ Work Arrangement: Site-based (Sydney) — Roster/FIFO arrangements considered for candidates relocating from interstate, with flights, accommodation, and meals provided where applicable 🛂 Work Rights: Australian Citizen, PR, or valid Australian work visa — no sponsorship available
🎯 Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day engineering support to the project team, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with design documentation, specifications, and approved methodologiesCoordinate and monitor subcontractor and trade activities on building packages (structure, façade, services, fit-out, etc.)Review and manage RFIs, technical queries, shop drawings, and design documentationSupport procurement and management of materials, plant, and subcontract packages relevant to the building scopeAssist in the development and review of construction methodologies, programs, and ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans)Monitor quality, safety, and environmental compliance on site in line with project and client standardsSupport cost control, progress reporting, and variation managementLiaise with client representatives, consultants, designers, and subcontractors to resolve technical and site issuesContribute to programme tracking and assist site management with sequencing and interface coordinationParticipate in site inspections, walk-downs, and handover/close-out documentation
Required Skills and Experience:Minimum 3 years and maximum 15 years of relevant experience in building works on Tier 1 major infrastructure projects.Proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects within time and budget constraints.Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project management principles, and industry standards.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise across design, construction, and client teams. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Proficiency with standard project engineering tools (e.g. document control platforms, MS Project/Primavera, Aconex, or equivalent)Current, valid driver's licenseWillingness and ability to work under roster and/or FIFO arrangements as required by project locationRelevant site safety inductions (White Card, and site-specific inductions as required)Full Australian working rights required — Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid Australian work visa with unrestricted work entitlement.Please note: sponsorship is not available for this role.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.Professional engineering accreditation or equivalent is preferred.
