Senior Electrical Engineer - Primary, Secondary & Protection

Syscon delivers high voltage substation and customer connection projects across NSW for utility, industrial, renewable energy and infrastructure clients.
We're looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the primary, secondary and protection design of complex HV projects. From new substations and major upgrades to customer connections, you'll provide technical leadership, mentor detail designers and play a key role in delivering critical power infrastructure.
This role can be based in Wyong, Newcastle, Wagga Wagga or Western Sydney.

Lead the primary, secondary and protection design of HV substations and customer connectionsDevelop design concepts for transformers, switchgear, busbar arrangements and earthing systemsPrepare and review protection studies, relay settings and fault level assessmentsProvide technical leadership and guidance to detail designersManage technical submissions and stakeholder engagement with network authoritiesSupport testing, commissioning and energisation activities alongside our dedicated T&C teamWork across utility, infrastructure, industrial and renewable energy projects
About you
Degree qualified Electrical EngineerCPEng or working towards Chartered statusProven experience delivering HV primary, secondary and protection designsStrong knowledge of substations, customer connections and protection systemsExperience with protection relay platforms such as SEL, ABB, Siemens or GESound understanding of AS 2067, AS/NZS 61850 and protection coordination principlesStrong communication skills and the ability to lead technical outcomesCurrent driver's licence
