The Role:
Working within Corporate Financial Operations, you will provide hands-on financial and management accounting support across a broad range of activities. This is not a traditional Accounts Receivable or banking-focused Finance Officer position, with the role requiring previous exposure to management accounting processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting month-end, journals and broader management accounting activities
- Processing payments, invoicing, corporate cards and general debtor transactions
- Maintaining accurate financial records across multiple systems, including TechnologyOne and Microsoft Office
- Liaising with internal stakeholders across Corporate and Regional teams regarding financial processes, policies and procedures
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and supporting broader finance initiatives
This is a full-time contract working
36.25 hours per week, with some additional hours required during key periods such as month-end, forecasting and budgeting.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will ideally have previous experience within a
Finance Officer, Assistant Accountant or Management Accounting support position. You will be comfortable working across both transactional and management accounting activities and able to quickly adapt within a high-volume environment.
You will also demonstrate:
- Previous exposure to management accounting and month-end processes
- Strong financial administration and reconciliation skills
- Confidence working with financial systems, with TechnologyOne experience highly regarded
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A proactive, agile approach and willingness to hit the ground running
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, positive attitude
Previous Queensland Government or public sector experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
