Purchasing and Logistics Specialist

About the role:

SURTECO Australia is looking for a Purchasing and Logistics Specialist who will oversee the efficient flow of goods, manage inventory and coordinate purchasing activity for our finished goods and purchase of raw materials. This position will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing - Source and evaluate suppliers, process purchase orders and purchase finished goods and manufacturing raw materials and consumables.

• Logistics Coordination-Coordinate overseas freight into Australia efficiently with full documentation and maintain our Australian Trusted Trader Accreditation.

• Vendor management - develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors including negotiation and cost reduction initiatives.

• Document and reporting- Prepare shipping documentation and run reports on purchasing and inventory as required.

• Compliance and regulation- Ensure compliance with local, national and international shipping regulations in line with Trusted Trader.

• Inventory Management & Procurement - Oversee procurement processes, supply chain coordination, vendor relations, and order processing.

• Safety- Work in conjunction with the Safety Manager regarding all safety related matters.

The Individual

• Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration or similar qualification and training.

• Strong experience of working in logistics/supply chain/transportation function within manufacturing environments with a comprehensive knowledge of logistics processes and procedures.

• Experience with vendor management, freight coordination and negotiation.

• Experience with ERP systems, Movex preferred but not essential.

• Knowledge of Microsoft office suite experience including Excel, Word.

• Ability to work autonomously and part of a team.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
