About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic professional with excellent communication skills and a passion for community engagement. The Legal Education Lawyer plays a pivotal part in empowering individuals and communities through accessible and engaging legal education. This position helps increase public awareness and understanding of State and Commonwealth laws, as well as the services offered by Legal Services.

You will participate in community engagement initiatives and events, ensuring legal information reaches those who need it most. In addition to this, you will be responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of community legal education and training programs.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through community legal education and engagement, helping individuals and communities better understand and navigate legal issues.

About You

You are an adaptable professional who is committed to improving access to justice, fostering strong community relationships, and delivering positive outcomes for priority client groups.

You will bring:

• Demonstrated experience delivering and presenting training, workshops, education programs, or information sessions to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated experience conducting legal research, interpreting legislation, and applying relevant case law.
• Demonstrated experience providing legal advice across a range of areas relevant to clients and organisational stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication and engagement skills, with the ability to tailor information and presentations to suit diverse audiences, target groups, and age ranges.
• The ability to work effectively with limited direction, both independently and collaboratively, while building and maintaining positive working relationships.
  

LSC1:

• Hold a Category C Practising Certificate or currently eligible to apply for a Category C Practising Certificate.
• Be an admitted practitioner of the Supreme Court of South Australia or currently eligible for admission to practise in South Australia.
  

LSC2:

• Hold an unrestricted Category C Practising Certificate or currently eligible to apply for an unrestricted Category C Practising Certificate.
• Be an admitted practitioner of the Supreme Court of South Australia or currently eligible for admission to practise in South Australia.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of post-admission legal experience such as legal practice or legal research.

Salary Range

Appointment will be made based on your experience at either the LSC1 or LSC2 classification.

• LSC1 $77,210 – $88,048 pro rata plus 12% superannuation and leave loading.
• LSC2 $93,233 – $105,177 pro rata plus 12% superannuation and leave loading.

As a not-for-profit organisation, Legal Services is able to offer its employees attractive salary sacrifice arrangements, including up to $15,900 pre-tax Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) year for general living expenses.

Position Status

Temporary 12 month contract available at the LSC1 or LSC2 classification level.
