Production Supervisor with Mechanical Trade – Highwall Mining

About the role

Production Supervisor with Mechanical Trade for highwall auger mining operations in the Bowen Basin. The role involves compliance with safety and health management systems, client liaison, direction of the workforce in production, compliance and maintenance activities, hands-on maintenance, diagnosing and mechanical repairs, reporting using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, and filing and record keeping of all documents. You will implement and apply the risk management process. The roster is currently 7 days on, 7 days off – day shift only. Accommodation and meals are provided whilst on site.

Key responsibilities

• Comply with and act in accordance with the safety and health management system

• Liaise with clients

• Direct (and work alongside as req'd) the workforce in production, compliance and maintenance activities

• Carry out hands on maintenance, diagnosing and mechanical repairs

• Produce reports using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and other tools

• File and keep records of all documents

• Implement and apply the risk management process

About you

• Minimum 1 years' experience as a Production Supervisor on a Coal Mine

• Trade Mechanical background or proven high mechanical skills and knowledge

• Hold RIISAM401E (Apply site plant, equipment and infrastructure maintenance management plans) in lieu of trade.

• Experience with gas detectors and gas management highly regarded

• Small work group experience with willingness to jump in and help the team

• Excellent communication and team building skills

• Open Queensland Driver's Licence

• Current G2 Carry out the Risk Management Process
