About the role
Alepat Taylor is a proud family owned bottling and canning company located in Preston. Operating since 1978, we specialise in manufacturing and the distribution of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
We are continuing to grow and expand and are seeking a team-oriented individual to take up the Full-time position of Quality Assurance Technician for our afternoon shift 2pm -10pm.
You must have a strong focus on quality and safety and be able to work as part of an effective team and also independently. A working knowledge of HACCP and strong communications skills with a dedication to get it right the first time whilst working closely and constructively with our customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing the daily QA activity for the canning and bottling line including start up checks and ongoing production run checks
Creating job bags/ packaging specifications as per production schedule and product release at the end of production
Be part of the Internal audit team conducting GMP, Bag Audits etc including verification and validation activities
Laboratory Analysis and testing of alcoholic and non-alcoholic products in a safe and efficient manner
Calibration of Lab instruments
Reviewing and approving test results prior to communication to clients
To perform duties as member of the tasting panel, for product assessment and approval
Ensuring that products canned comply with Customer Specifications, Alepat Taylor Quality Manual & Code of Good Manufacturing Practice
Conduct checks on can integrity, including inspection of double-seam measurements, seam appearance, can defects, leaks, dents, and damage.
Maintenance of all related documentation, efficiently, accurately and within the Lab/Quality System library at all times
Liaising with suppliers regarding non-conforming material
Help investigate Customer Complaints and conduct Root cause analysis
Assisting the QA team where required and covering when team members are away
The successful candidate will have:
Formal qualifications in quality, food science or a related discipline
Minimum of 1 year QA experience in the beverage, wine, spirits or food industry being a distinct advantage
Sound knowledge of HACCP and GMP
Strong focus on Quality, attention to detail, multi-tasking and excellent people skill are paramount to success in this role
A strong work ethic and the ability to work as part of a team as well as individually with limited supervision
An analytical mind and problem solving skills
Beverage Canning experience will be advantageous
