Darwin Consultancy is seeking a senior Technical Architect for a long-term Australian Government contract commencing 1 October 2026.

The role

You will provide technical and architectural leadership across cloud-native, microservices and AI-enabled platforms. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading microservices, event-driven and enterprise integration architecture.
• Guiding enterprise AI delivery, including semantic search, machine learning and responsible AI.
• Establishing DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability and security standards.
• Driving cloud modernisation, containerisation and platform engineering.
• Leading multidisciplinary teams and advising senior stakeholders.

Required experience

• Enterprise cloud-native and microservices architecture.
• Practical production AI and machine learning delivery.
• Software and platform engineering leadership.
• DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing and observability.
• Technology modernisation in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and technical leadership.

Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS, EKS or GKE, SRE and Agile delivery is highly desirable.

Requirements

• Australian citizenship.
• Must hold or be able to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
• Up to 40 hours per week.
• Canberra-based hybrid working; occasional travel may be required.
