Senior Project Officer

The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian student's birth to 18 years.

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Assessment Division in the Process Improvement and Coordination Unit in an ongoing full-time position.

• Salary: $116,413 - $140,849 (Plus Superannuation of 12%)

About the Unit
The Process Improvement and Coordination Unit coordinates monitoring, reporting and improvement functions across the Assessment Division. The Unit monitors progress against deliverables, milestones and operational commitments, identifying risks, issues and dependencies. The Unit has responsibility for policy and project development, divisional business planning, budget management and other whole-of-divisional functions such as procurement. The Unit works across teams to embed and support continuous improvement.

Role Purpose

The Senior Project Officer plays a key role in leading continuous improvement and coordinating business activities. The Senior Project Officer is also responsible for developing and managing operational policies, procedures and reporting on operational milestones, deliverables and commitments. Centralised procurement and contract management is also a responsibility of the Senior Project Officer, as is print production and quality. The role collaborates with other teams to coordinate business critical activities and mentors and coaches Project Advisors.

They will be able to build and develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively within a team. They will also have excellent data analysis and written communication skills and be able to work proactively and independently. The candidate will demonstrate the Victorian Public Sector Values in their conduct and be a positive contributor to an inclusive organisational culture which values excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential: Relevant tertiary qualification in education, project management, policy or related discipline.

Desirable: Experience in project management, procurement/contract management, public administration or print/multimedia production.
