Medical Receptionist

About the business and the role

We are a highly regarded, busy, specialist occupational hand therapy practice with ten practice locations in WA (7 metro and 3 regional) and approx. 30 therapy staff, full time Practice Manager, Receptionist staff and Book Keeper in place.

We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic and efficient Medical Receptionist/ Secretary to fit with our supportive cohesive team and work in close communication with the Practice Manager. The successful applicant will have a strong customer focus, be very organised and able to work successfully under pressure alongside others in the team. Previous experience with medical billing software Pracsuite and medical typing is preferred for this position.

Job tasks and responsibilities

1. To be the initial contact person for our front desk in reception for clients, management and responsibility for client appointment bookings, creation of new patient file cards, updating referral and doctor information, handling all phone and email enquiries, sending of patient related letters and reports via Healthlink and handling of all patient related accounts of the practice using ‘PracSuite’ Smartsoft Medical Practice software.

2. To assist the Practice Manager to ensure the accurate and timely completion of all necessary Reception duties, including print/mail or email and follow up of patient accounts (private, workers compensation etc) in conjunction with the Practice Manager and office staff.

3. To offer Reception support to practice staff and therapists, maintaining a strong friendly customer focus and presence.

Skills and experience

Previous experience in Medical Reception is preferred for this job. The successful applicant will need to be highly skilled in multi-tasking in a busy practice environment and have a strong customer presence, as well as enjoy working within a medium size team environment and with other office staff in place.
