About the role

This is a casual, on-call position suited to someone seeking flexible work rather than guaranteed daily hours. Hotshot deliveries are time-critical and require freight to be collected and transported directly to the customer as safely and efficiently as possible. Jobs may involve a small carton, several items or a pallet, depending on the capacity of your vehicle.

Key responsibilities

• Long-distance driving throughout Western NSW and regional areas

• Daytime, evening and overnight work

• Urgent, direct deliveries with minimal notice

• Deliveries to mines, industrial sites and regional businesses

• Using the WPE mobile delivery application

• Communicating regularly with the WPE operations team

• Ensuring freight is safely restrained and delivered in good condition

About you

• Your own reliable ute, van or truck in excellent working condition

• A current Australian driver's licence appropriate for your vehicle

• Experience driving safely over long distances

• Confidence and experience driving at night

• Good knowledge of load restraint requirements

• A strong commitment to fatigue management and safe driving

• A smartphone and the ability to use a delivery application

• Good communication skills and a professional manner

• The ability to work independently and follow instructions

• Flexibility to accept work at short notice
