Junior Product Specialist (VIC)

Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position

• Working closely with the product teams, providing input and feedback — based on Australian farming operations, livestock management and farmers' requirements — to ensure Halter is always working on the most important priorities and builds what its farmers need.
• Leading projects to enable continuous innovation and expansion of the product, from design through execution to conclusion.
• Sharing in-depth knowledge and advice about Australian farms, livestock and virtual fencing throughout Halter.
• Partnering with the Business Development and Account Management teams to maintain strong alignment on farmers' operational requirements and agricultural outcomes.
• Critically thinking about the product end-to-end to proactively and reactively start initiatives that improve livestock management and are valuable for farmers and their animals.
• Working with strategic customers to analyse their farm and livestock data, ensure they are fully utilising the product, and advise them on improving livestock management and production outcomes.
• Assessing new farms and advising farmers on setting up and configuring virtual fencing across Australia, appropriate to their livestock and grazing systems.
• Providing other agricultural advisory support from time to time to ensure the ultimate success of Halter in Australia.

Qualification & experience

• A bachelor degree or higher qualification in agricultural science, animal science or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Australian farming operations, livestock management, animal husbandry and pasture / grazing systems.
• At least 12 months of relevant experience advising on agricultural or livestock production, or in a closely related field.
• The ability to analyse farm and livestock data and translate it into practical advice for farmers.
• Knowledge of, or the ability to advise on, the application of agricultural technology such as virtual fencing in commercial livestock operations.
• Strong communication skills to advise farmers and to share agricultural knowledge across the business.
