THIS IS MORE THAN A TEAM LEADER ROLE
It’s an opportunity to help build one of Australia’s first culturally responsive Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) recovery organisations dedicated to supporting African Australian and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.
As our Founding Team Leader, you won’t be stepping into an established organisation with fixed systems and processes. You’ll be joining at the beginning of an exciting journey—working alongside the CEO to build a high-performing organisation that genuinely changes lives.
If you’ve ever wanted the opportunity to shape an organisation, influence strategy, create systems, mentor staff and be recognised as a key leader, this role offers exactly that.
Why Join NAS Recovery Centre?
This is a rare opportunity to join a purpose-driven start-up where your ideas, leadership and expertise will genuinely influence the future of the organisation.
You’ll enjoy:
*Being part of the Executive Leadership Team from the beginning
*Working directly with the CEO to shape the organisation’s future
*Opportunity to design and improve policies, procedures and service models
*Building and leading a multidisciplinary team as the organisation grows
*Significant opportunities for leadership development and career progression
*The chance to leave a lasting legacy within a growing organisation
*A workplace where innovation and new ideas are encouraged
Professional development and external training opportunities.
*Flexible and supportive working environment
*The satisfaction of helping create culturally responsive services that make a genuine difference in people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
1. Provide leadership, supervision and support to a multidisciplinary team
2. Build a positive, high-performing workplace culture
3. Coordinate day-to-day program delivery across AOD and mental health services
4. Work alongside the CEO to develop organisational systems, policies and procedures
5. Drive continuous quality improvement and service innovation
6. Develop strong partnerships with community organisations and key stakeholders
7. Monitor program performance, outcomes and reporting requirements
8. Ensure services are delivered safely, ethically and in accordance with funding agreements
9. Support workforce recruitment, onboarding and professional development
10. Help guide the strategic growth of the organisation
Our Commitment to Diversity
NAS Recovery Centre values diversity, equity and inclusion.
We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, African Australian communities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with lived experience, and people of all genders, faiths, abilities and identities.
If you don’t meet every selection criterion but believe you can make a significant contribution to our organisation, we encourage you to apply.
Ready to Build Something Extraordinary?
If you’re an experienced leader looking for more than just another management role—if you want to shape an organisation, influence strategy and help create lasting change—we’d love to hear from you.
Please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your leadership experience and why you’re interested in joining NAS Recovery Centre.
