Strait Link Shipping
About the role
We move more than freight.
Every day, our people connect Tasmania and mainland Australia, keeping essential goods moving and supporting the communities that rely on us.
But behind every shipment, vessel and truck is a team of people making it happen — and that’s what makes Strait Link a pretty unique place to work.
We’re part of something bigger, with the backing of the global Igneo Infrastructure Partners network, but we’re still close enough to the operation to see the impact of what we do.
If you want a role where you can make a difference, build genuine relationships and help shape what better looks like, you’ll fit right in.
A Workplace Where Everyone Belongs
At Strait Link, we're committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome, respected and empowered to succeed. We celebrate diversity and encourage applications from people of all ages, cultural backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, people living with disability and neurodiverse individuals.
Are you passionate about safety and ready to make a real impact?
If you’ve worked in the safety space, know your way around WHS and enjoy getting out into the operation rather than sitting behind a desk, we want to hear from you.
We’re looking for a Safety Advisor to join our team and help us continue building a strong, proactive safety culture across Strait Link.
At Strait Link, safety is about more than policies, procedures and ticking boxes. It’s about understanding how work really gets done, asking the right questions, finding practical solutions and helping our people get home safely every day.
If you’ve got a solid safety foundation, some hands-on experience and the confidence to build relationships across an operational business, we’d love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
You’ll work alongside our leaders and frontline teams to strengthen safety across the business, helping turn good intentions into practical action.
In this role, you will:
About You
You’re someone who genuinely cares about safety, but you also understand that great safety outcomes come from people, not paperwork.
You’re confident having conversations, asking questions and challenging the status quo when something doesn’t look right. You can work with a senior leader one minute and a frontline operator the next, and you know how to turn safety requirements into practical solutions.
You’ll bring:
You don’t need to have spent your entire career leading safety teams. We’re interested in people who have the right foundations, a passion for safety and the ability to build trust and influence positive change.
Experience in logistics, transport, warehousing, maritime or another high-risk operational environment will be highly regarded.
Why Strait Link?
Because this isn’t a role where you’ll sit on the sidelines telling people what they should be doing.
You’ll have the opportunity to get involved, build relationships and make a visible difference to how safety is experienced across our business.
At Strait Link, you’ll be part of a team that:
If you require any adjustments throughout the recruitment process, please let us know — we're here to support you. For any enquiries, please contact askHR@straitlink.com.au.
