About the Role
The Workshop Technician is responsible for the provision of the safe, efficient and compliant mechanical and/or electrical; diagnostic, repair, maintenance and component replacement services to the Division’s customer base.
Key Responsibilities
Provide electrical / mechanical services including but not limited to:
Inspect products and/or materials for conformity
Request required spare parts
Operate workshop equipment
Operation of relevant lifting equipment
Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and manuals
Maintain, overhaul and test electrical/electronic equipment
Lubrication of electrical equipment
Diagnostic analysis on electrical systems
Running adjustments to plant and equipment
Repair Vehicle/Plant Electrical Components
Perform modifications to wiring looms and electrical components
Machine armatures and ream bushes to fit shafts
Strip, clean, lubricate and paint repaired items
Active involvement in the continuous improvement of the Product Support process
Maintain effective relationships with customers
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Accurate completion of documentation including timesheets, maintenance requests and any customer/site specific documentation required
Personal (i.e. individual’s) health and safety performance and behaviour and that your acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others
Compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Policy and Procedures.
Alerting the organisation of potential or known problems that affect the quality of LAS products and services
Initiate recommendations for improvement of the organisation’s policies and processes

About you
Essential
Either:
Certificate III Mobile Plant Technology
Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical)
Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical) Diesel Fitter
Certificate III Engineering (Fabrication)
Desirable
Large excavator/haul truck experience
High Risk Licenses; LF, DG, EWP
Working at Heights certificate
