About the role

WTD Constructions Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Wall and Floor Tiler to join our growing team in Darwin, NT. This is a full-time position with opportunity for overtime. As a Floor Tiler, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality tiling solutions across our diverse range of commercial and residential construction projects. Your expertise and attention to detail will directly contribute to the professional finish and longevity of our builds, making this role essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the building trades.

• Accommodation and meals paid for in communities

• Flights paid for (Darwin to communities and return)

• FIFO 2:1 with the opportunity of longer stints

• 12 hour work days

What you'll be doing

• Preparing surfaces by cleaning, levelling and ensuring they meet specifications and safety standards

• Measuring, cutting and laying floor tiles with precision to create seamless, professional finishes

• Applying adhesives and grout using appropriate techniques and tools

• Reading and interpreting plans and specifications to ensure accuracy in tile placement and pattern work

• Selecting appropriate tile materials, adhesives and grout products for specific applications

• Performing quality checks throughout the tiling process to ensure high standards are met

• Collaborating with other tradespeople and site supervisors to ensure project timelines are maintained

• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations

• Using and maintaining hand and power tools safely and effectively

• When not tiling you will be expected to assist Carpenters with labour work

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Wall and Floor Tiler in the building trades industry, with a demonstrated track record of quality work

• Trade qualification in tiling or equivalent practical experience

• Strong knowledge of tiling techniques, materials, adhesives and grouting methods

• Proficiency with tiling tools including tile cutters, grout floats, spacers and levelling systems

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately

• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering professional finishes

• Physical fitness and ability to work on your feet for extended periods, including bending, kneeling and repetitive motions

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to different project requirements

• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently as well as part of a team

• Current working rights in Australia

• A valid driver's licence is desirable
