HSEQ Manager

North West Mining & Civil is a growing Western Australian contractor providing mining, civil construction and plant hire services across the resources and infrastructure sectors. We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to lead our Health, Safety, Environment and Quality function across our operations. Based in Jandakot, this is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining compliance, driving continuous improvement, and supporting a positive safety culture throughout the business.

This position will oversee HSEQ requirements across our mining, civil construction, and wet and dry hire divisions, ensuring our people, systems, and equipment consistently meet legislative, client, and company standards.

Adhoc travel is required to the North West WA.

About the Role

Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will be responsible for:

• Leading and maintaining the company's HSEQ Management Systems

• Providing expert advice on WHS, environmental, and quality matters

• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and client requirements

• Conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments, and workplace investigations

• Managing incident reporting and corrective action processes

• Developing and reviewing policies, procedures, SWMS, and supporting documentation

• Supporting project teams and supervisors to achieve HSEQ objectives

• Coordinating training, inductions, and competency management

• Overseeing compliance and documentation for wet and dry hire fleet operations

• Monitoring plant, equipment, and operator compliance requirements

• Preparing management reports, KPI analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Supporting client audits, prequalifications, and tender submissions

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior HSEQ position within mining, civil, construction, resources, or heavy industry

• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and associated regulations

• Experience maintaining integrated HSEQ management systems

• Demonstrated experience conducting audits and incident investigations

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Strong report writing and administrative capabilities

• A proactive and solution-focused approach

• Current C Class Driver's Licence

Desirable Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety

• Diploma or Advanced Diploma in WHS

• Lead Auditor qualification

• ICAM Investigation Training

• Experience managing ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 systems

• Previous experience within a plant hire, mining, or civil contracting environment
