The Company

Our client is an established organisation investing in the support, improvement and governance of its business application portfolio. The technology function works across multiple business areas and partners with vendors and delivery teams to align applications with organisational needs and strategic goals.


The Role

This 12-month Business System Analyst opportunity combines business analysis, application support, portfolio governance and project delivery. You will work closely with stakeholders, IT teams and vendors to troubleshoot issues, map processes, define requirements, support testing and improve systems throughout their lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Map business processes, conduct gap analysis and assess requests against existing application capabilities
• Maintain accurate application portfolio information and analyse functionality, cost, usage and lifecycle data
• Provide BAU application support, user guidance, issue monitoring and clear system documentation
• Facilitate workshops, interviews and demonstrations to capture feedback and refine requirements
• Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for developers, vendors and project teams
• Prepare test cases and plans, support UAT and validate that delivered solutions meet business needs
• Create user guides and training materials, and deliver end-user training
• Support application governance, licensing, compliance, onboarding, optimisation and retirement activities

Key project exposure

• Enhancements and integrations across Salesforce, a custom application portal and StarRez
• Assessment of mobile application and digital identity verification solutions
• Integration planning involving StarRez, myBuildings and MRI
• Development of an approved software list, technology lifecycle approach and procurement policy
• Decommissioning low-value or redundant applications and identifying suitable replacements
• Potential involvement in a new ERP implementation

What our client requires

Essential experience

• 5+ years' experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst or related IT professional supporting enterprise or mid-scale applications
• Strong business analysis capability across requirements elicitation, process mapping, gap analysis and specification development
• Experience supporting and improving business applications through troubleshooting, documentation and end-user support
• Experience contributing to IT projects, including solution design, UAT planning, validation and implementation support
• Strong stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of data management, integrations, security, governance, compliance and software licensing

Highly regarded

• Exposure to application portfolio management and system lifecycle activities
• Experience with SaaS platforms, cloud applications, integrations or low-code/no-code tools
• Knowledge of data mapping and migration techniques
• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business Information Systems or a related discipline
