Senior Legal Counsel

• Ensure the legal framework and negotiation of external legal counsel are fit for purpose and professionally managed.
  
• Establish a governance and policy framework to identify, track, and satisfy legal, compliance, and governance requirements.
  
• Represent the organization with industry bodies, peak bodies, and key external stakeholders.
  
• Lead effective tendering, negotiation, procurement, and contract management across various transactions.
  
• Lead a high-performing governance, compliance, and procurement team, embodying the organiation's values.
  

Requirements

• 8+ years post-admission experience and admission as a solicitor in New South Wales, Australia.
  
• Contemporary industry knowledge in commercial law, contract law, industrial relations, and governance.
  
• Exposure to the not-for-profit and charitable sector.
  
• Exceptional negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  
• Ability to implement sustainable change and a 'systems thinking' methodology.
  
• Passion for staying updated on organizational governance, compliance, legislative, and regulatory frameworks.
