Specialist Heavy Machinery Technician

We are seeking an experienced Drill Fitter – Field Maintenance to support a large mining operation in Papua New Guinea on a 21/14 roster.

You will work alongside national technicians, providing hands-on coaching, mentoring and technical guidance to lift safety, quality and maintenance standards over the long term.

Key Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and develop PNG national Field Maintenance technicians
• Provide technical guidance and quality assurance on maintenance execution
• Act as a visible role model for safe work practices and high standards
• Support diagnostics and fault finding when required
• Identify skill gaps and recurring technical issues
• Contribute to continuous improvement, reliability and defect elimination initiatives

About You

• Heavy Diesel Fitter Trade Qualification
• Extensive mining experience with proven technical mastery of Sandvik DR410i Production Drills, Sandvik DI650i RC Drills & Sandvik DI650i Horizontal Drills
• In-depth knowledge of CAT C15 & Cummins QSK19 engines
• High technical credibility
• Strong focus on safety, quality and disciplined execution
• Patient, calm and committed to developing national capability
• Australian or New Zealand Citizen/Resident
• Must be able to pass a PNG Visa Medical and Police Clearance
