Specialist Mine Engineering Full Time

The Opportunity

We currently have a great opportunity for a hands-on and motivated Mining Engineer (Open Pit) to join our team at our Tropicana Gold Mine.

Accountable to the Superintendent Mining Operations, you will drive safe, high quality mining production coupled with the short-term plan by daily execution planning & collaborating the required support work to facilitate seamless material movement and scheduled ore production.

This role is working on a FIFO 8/6 roster with direct flights to site from either Perth or Kalgoorlie.

About the role:

• Develop weekly plans that align with the monthly short-term plan
• Prepare mine designs and production schedules aligned with operational requirements.
• Monitor compliance to plan and implement corrective actions as required
• Conduct pit inspections and QA/QC activities to ensure safe and efficient mining practices
• Engagement with alliance partners and key stakeholders

About you

The ideal candidate will have:

• Tertiary qualification – bachelor’s degree in mining engineering
• Unrestricted quarry managers certificate (or actively working towards it) desirable
• Broad range of open pit mining skills encompassing production operation, mine scheduling/planning, mine optimizations geo-tech, drill and blast, mining systems, business planning and financial analysis
• Alastri (ATS/APS), Vulcan knowledge
• Minestar/FMS knowledge
• Effective communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization
• Experience with using Microsoft Office programs
• A current ‘C’ class Western Australian driver’s license
• Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
• Australian work rights
