If what you want is to be a set of hands on a big site — pulling cable off a drum for eight months, banging in tray, never seeing a system get commissioned, never speaking to a client — keep scrolling. Plenty of companies will happily give you that job.

We're not one of them.

At Prosparx, the systems we install are the ones people press the button on at 3am. Nurse call in aged care. Access control on a dementia wing. CCTV in a medical center. When our work is right, nobody notices. When it isn't, somebody is left waiting for help.

That's the standard. If that sounds like pressure, it is. It's also what makes the work worth doing.

What You'd Actually Be Doing

Prosparx is a Thomastown-based electrical and technology contractor delivering across aged care, healthcare, commercial and domestic sites. We have a strong work schedule locked in through 2026 and well into 2027.

Day to day, that looks like:

• Installing, terminating and commissioning nurse call systems (Austco, Caretech and similar IP platforms)

• Access control and intercom — Inner Range Integriti and Inception, from door hardware through to controller programming

• IP CCTV and VMS — cameras, switches, NVRs, Nx Witness and equivalents

• Data and structured cabling, comms racks and network gear

• Commercial and domestic electrical services, and air conditioning works

• Fault-finding on live sites, most of them occupied aged care and healthcare facilities

• Talking directly to facility managers, nurse unit managers and maintenance staff — not hiding behind a supervisor

You won't do all of it on day one. You will be shown, trained and expected to pick it up.

Before You Apply — Read This Bit Properly

Some of our contracted work is in regional Victoria and interstate. That means nights away from home (week days only). It suits some people perfectly and doesn't suit others at all. Please think it through honestly before you apply — it's a genuine requirement of the role, not a once-a-year inconvenience.

Because most of our work is inside aged care facilities, the vaccination and clearance requirements below are inherent requirements of the position.

Two Doors In

You're an A-Grade Electrician who's tired of the same three tasks and wants a genuine specialisation. You've got the licence, you've got the fundamentals, and you want to add controllers, IP networks and life-safety systems to your name instead of another year of the same install.

Or you're already a security / nurse call / comms technician with real hands-on experience across access control, CCTV or nurse call. An A-Grade licence is a bonus, not a barrier — solid low-voltage experience and an ACMA registered cabler ticket will get you a long way with us.

Either way, you're someone who:

• Takes pride in a neat, labelled, documented install

• Reads the drawings, and says something when the drawings are wrong

• Can hold a professional conversation on a client site — especially a sensitive one

• Chases the root cause instead of clearing the fault and moving on

• Works cleanly and respectfully around residents, patients and staff

• Is self-motivated — we're busy, and we need people who get on with it

• Wants to be better at this in two years than you are today

Essential or must be obtained

• Experience in data and structured cabling

• Current driver's licence

• White Card

• COVID-19 vaccination

• Current flu vaccination

• Police Check (can be obtained if employed)

• Working with Children Check (can be obtained if employed)

• The right to work in Australia

An A-Grade licence, ACMA cabling registration and an EWP ticket are all advantages.
