Bore Mechanic

About the Role 

As the Bore Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable operation of water infrastructure across Ambalindum Aggregation. Working in a remote station environment, you will maintain, service and repair bore pumps, motors, pipelines, tanks, troughs and associated systems that support livestock operations. This hands-on role combines preventative maintenance, fault finding and breakdown response while contributing to the safe and efficient operation of the property. You will also assist with general station maintenance activities as required.  

Key Responsibilities 

• Maintain, service and repair bore pumps, electric motors and associated pumping equipment.  
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults across bore and water infrastructure systems.  
• Monitor and maintain solar-powered bore systems, generators and remote power supplies.  
• Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections to minimise equipment failures.  
• Maintain water infrastructure including bores, tanks, troughs, pipelines and pumps to ensure consistent water availability for livestock.  

About You 

You are a practical and self-motivated trades professional who enjoys working independently in a remote environment. With strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, you take pride in keeping critical infrastructure operating safely and efficiently. You are committed to workplace safety, proactive maintenance and delivering quality outcomes. Experience with agricultural operations, remote power systems or cattle stations will be highly regarded.  

You Will Bring 

• Current Northern Territory Electrical Work Licence appropriate to the work performed.  
• Experience in electrical fault finding, maintenance and repairs.  
• Knowledge of pumps, motors, control systems and bore infrastructure.  
• Experience with solar-powered pumping systems, generators or remote power systems (highly regarded).  
• Strong safety awareness, problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
