Across our Australian operations, we extract and process rich mineral sands into a range of valuable products including ilmenite, zircon, rutile and titanium dioxide pigment which are then exported to international markets. Tronox is developing a new business arm involving the processing of Rare Earth minerals, from mineral sands sources.

About the Role

Tronox is seeking a commercially astute and delivery-focused Project Procurement & Contracts Manager to manage procurement planning and execution across both the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) and Execution phases of a major Rare Earths project in Western Australia.

This role is responsible for collaboratively developing and implementing procurement strategies, engaging with vendors and contractors, and ensuring that project-related procurement activities are aligned with project objectives, schedules, and governance requirements. You will work closely with the Global Capital and Tronox Supply Chain Team, Project Director, Project Manager, Engineering Manager, and other functional leads to ensure that procurement inputs are well integrated into both study and delivery phases.

This position reports jointly to the Global Capital Procurement Director and to the Rare Earth Project Director and plays a key role in ensuring procurement readiness and performance across the full lifecycle of the project.

Initially offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract for the DFS phase, this role is designed to become permanent once the project achieves FID and moves into Execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

• Lead the development of procurement strategies including contracting models, sourcing approaches, and early engagement plans. Ensure good alignment to leverage the Global Capital Procurement team while working collaboratively to best position Tronox.
• Identify long-lead equipment and materials and develop procurement timelines to mitigate schedule risk
• Define procurement packages, scopes of work, and interface requirements in collaboration with the project team
• Assist in the preparation of CAPEX estimates by aligning procurement scopes, package breakdowns, and lead‑time data

Market Engagement & Vendor Management

• Engage with potential vendors and contractors to assess market capability and alignment with project requirements
• Support contractor and supplier evaluations, including capability assessments and prequalification
• Manage relationships with key suppliers and ensure alignment with project standards and expectations

Execution Support

• Oversee procurement of major equipment, bulk materials, and construction services - this may entail supervision of a contracted procurement sub-team.
• Monitor expediting, inspection, and logistics to ensure on-time delivery to site
• Support contract execution, change management, and claims resolution in collaboration with legal and commercial teams
• Ensure procurement documentation is sufficiently mature to support early works and critical path packages

Governance & Reporting

• Identify procurement-related risks and contribute to mitigation strategies
• Ensure procurement activities and approaches are aligned with the Global Capital and Supply Chain executive team and always comply with governance frameworks and regulatory requirements
• Maintain procurement tracking tools, KPIs, and reporting dashboards
• Provide regular updates to the both the Global Capital Procurement Director and the Project Director and contribute to investment decision support materials

About you:

• Extensive experience in procurement and contracting for major industrial or resource projects
• Strong capability in strategy development, market engagement, and package definition
• Ability to both work independently with light direction from Global Capital Project Supply Chain leadership and to communicate proactively and timely to maintain alignment with Tronox Global Teams.
• Proven ability to manage vendor and contractor relationships and coordinate across disciplines
• Deep understanding of commercial frameworks, risk management, and regulatory compliance
• Ideally, have experience working with Engineering Service Providers and construction contractors
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
• A proactive mindset focused on value, performance, and continuous improvement
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline would be favourable
