Renderer / Solid Plasterer

This role involves preparing and applying plaster, render and finishing materials to internal and external surfaces across residential and commercial projects. Role Duties

• Prepare surfaces for plastering and rendering by cleaning, removing old plaster and applying bonding agents.
• Mix and apply plaster, cement and render to walls, ceilings and other structures using trowels, levels and other tools.
• Apply coats to achieve a smooth and uniform thickness and high-quality finish.
• Plumb and straighten corners, angles, walls and ceiling surfaces.
• Install pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings.
• Create decorative textures and finishes according to project specifications.
• Repair, patch and restore damaged or deteriorated plaster, cement and rendered surfaces.
• Measure surfaces and calculate the materials required for each job.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications and work instructions.
• Use plastering and rendering tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets required quality and finishing standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow workplace health and safety requirements.

Qualifications / Attributes

• Must hold a Certificate III or higher qualification in Solid Plastering, Plastering, Rendering or a related field.
• At least three (3) years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification listed above.
• Must possess at least one year of relevant work experience in solid plastering & rendering.
• Strong understanding of plastering and rendering materials, techniques and finishing methods.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications and technical instructions accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and time-management skills.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
