Production Supervisor

XFLAM is looking for an experienced and hands-on Production Supervisor to join our manufacturing operation in Dandenong South.

This is a practical leadership role for someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operation of a manufacturing environment. You’ll lead from the floor, support your team, keep production moving and take ownership of safety, quality, productivity and performance.

We’re looking for someone who doesn’t wait to be told what needs to be done. You’ll be proactive, organised, solutions-focused and comfortable getting involved when things get challenging.

About the Role

Reporting to the XFLAM Operations Manager, you will supervise and coordinate the day-to-day production operation, providing hands-on leadership to our production team.

You will be responsible for making sure production priorities are achieved while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, housekeeping and productivity.

This is a role where you will be visible and involved. You’ll work closely with production employees as well as Logistics, Purchasing, Maintenance, Sales, Accounts and Operations to keep the manufacturing operation running effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities

• Provide hands-on leadership and direction to production employees

• Allocate labour and resources to meet production requirements

• Monitor production performance, output and efficiency

• Identify and resolve production issues, delays and constraints

• Promote a strong safety-first culture across the production area

• Ensure employees follow safe work practices, procedures and SOPs

• Monitor product quality and minimise non-conforming production

• Oversee production materials, inventory, waste and material utilisation

• Monitor the condition and availability of plant and equipment

• Work with Maintenance to address breakdowns and equipment issues

• Maintain accurate production, inventory and operational records

• Use systems including Pronto and Microsoft Excel to record and report information

• Work closely with Logistics, Purchasing, Maintenance and other departments

• Identify and implement practical improvements to safety, quality and productivity

• Provide operational leadership when the Operations Manager is unavailable, within delegated authority

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a hands-on production leader who enjoys being involved in the operation and leading a team.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience supervising or coordinating production in a manufacturing environment

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production requirements

• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate production employees

• A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving

• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic fault-finding capability

• Experience working with production systems, work orders and manufacturing records

• Working knowledge of Pronto, Microsoft Excel and Word

• Understanding of inventory, material usage and production waste

• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety

• Current Forklift Licence (LF)

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 will be highly regarded but is not essential.
