About the role
Australian Independent Care Services is seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Disability Support Worker to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.
The position will provide disability support services to participants across our service locations in:
Hobart TAS 7000
Launceston TAS 7250
The successful candidate will provide person-centred and individualised support to participants in accordance with their individual care and support plans. The role involves working across participant residences, Supported Independent Living (SIL) settings and community-based environments within the Hobart and Launceston service areas.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide practical and individualised support based on each participant's needs, goals and preferences.
Key responsibilities
Supporting participants with daily living activities
Providing personal care and personal support where required
Assisting participants to develop and maintain independence
Supporting community access and social participation
Assisting with meal preparation and household tasks
Supporting participants to attend appointments and activities
Providing transport support where required
Supporting participants in Supported Independent Living environments
Following individual support plans and behaviour support strategies
Completing accurate shift notes and required documentation
About you
Experience working as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar care role
Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or a related qualification is highly regarded
Current NDIS Worker Screening clearance, or ability to obtain one
Current Working with Vulnerable People registration, where required
Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
A current Australian driver's licence
Reliable transport
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to complete clear and accurate shift documentation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
