What you'll contribute to: We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Technical Services team.
 
This role is ideal for a highly capable IT generalist with a strong AWS/cloud mindset, who enjoys working across infrastructure, architecture, operations, and continuous improvement.
 
You'll play a key role in designing, supporting, and evolving our hybrid cloud environments, while also providing support across operational excellence and technical direction. This is a permanent full-time position based at our Sydney Olympic Park office, open only to Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents. More about the role:
 
Cloud & Architecture Leadership

• Lead design and implementation of AWS-based cloud infrastructure
• Drive architecture decisions across cloud and on-prem environments
• Contribute to DR, BCP, and high-availability architectures
• Improve scalability, reliability, and security of systems

Infrastructure & Operations

• Provide Level 3 support across cloud and internal environments
• Manage hybrid infrastructure including:
• AWS (core focus), with some Azure exposure
• Windows & Linux systems
• Networking (VPNs, firewalls, routing, DNS, DHCP)
• Administer databases and application servers
• Own backup, monitoring, and incident management processes

Technical Leadership & Governance

• Mentor junior team members and support capability growth
• Oversee production changes and infrastructure releases
• Lead troubleshooting for critical incidents
• Ensure strong operational controls, auditability, and security

Continuous Improvement

• Analyse SLA and performance metrics
• Drive automation, process improvements, and cost optimisation
• Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to deliver outcomes

What are we looking for?

• Strong experience across AWS cloud infrastructure (essential)
• Broad IT generalist background across infrastructure & operations
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Windows & Linux environments
  • Networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs)
  • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange
• Proven ability to design and operate scalable infrastructure solutions

Certifications & Skills

• AWS Certification (highly preferred)
• Azure experience (desirable)
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management capability
• Experience in documenting and governing environments
