Shot Crew

CITIC Pacific Mining is seeking Shot Crew personnel to join our Mining team at Cape Preston. This is a permanent 2/1 FIFO opportunity from Perth, supporting safe and efficient blasting operations within our Sino Iron pit.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Drill & Blast operations, develop your knowledge of shotfiring and explosives, and work alongside an experienced team. With training and development opportunities available, you’ll have the chance to build your skills and progress your career within Drill & Blast.

What you’ll be doing:

• Assist with the preparation and execution of daily blasting activities.
• Handle and transport explosives and bulk products safely and in accordance with site requirements.
• Follow all mine regulations, legislation, Australian Standards and CPM policies and procedures.
• Support the team to achieve required Drill & Blast quality and production targets.
• Identify and report any safety issues, explosive loss or theft in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain blasting notification and information boards as required.
• Participate in Blast Guard, Blast Crew, drill support and other relevant Drill & Blast activities and training.

What we’re looking for:

• A strong commitment to working safely and following site procedures.
• A team-focused approach and willingness to learn.
• Good numeracy and written communication skills.
• An understanding of safety systems relating to mining and explosives.
• An interest in developing knowledge of shotfiring activities and Drill & Blast operations.
• Current Dangerous Goods Security Card
• Current WA Manual Driver’s Licence (HR desirable)
