Senior Scheduler

Palisades is seeking expressions of interest from two experienced Senior Schedulers for an anticipated long-term Commonwealth Defence engagement in Canberra.

The engagement is expected to commence in October 2026 for an initial 12-month term, with the potential for a further 12-month extension.

Working within a complex Defence program environment, you will provide division-level scheduling and program integration support across multiple interdependent workstreams. These roles will suit experienced schedulers who can move beyond schedule administration to provide meaningful analysis, identify emerging risks and dependencies, and support informed program decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing, maintaining and managing complex milestone and delivery schedules using Open Plan Professional (OPP).

• Supporting integrated program, enabling and ICT schedules.

• Integrating schedules into a broader Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).

• Developing and maintaining Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).

• Monitoring schedule performance, critical activities, dependencies and emerging delays.

• Analysing complex program and project data to identify trends, risks and potential schedule impacts.

• Advising stakeholders on schedule changes, risks and appropriate mitigations.

• Supporting schedule reviews, audits and assurance activities.

• Preparing monthly and ad hoc schedule reports and performance metrics.

• Providing scheduling advice, mentoring and knowledge transfer to Commonwealth personnel.

About you

You will bring substantial scheduling experience within complex Defence capability programs or similarly complex government environments, together with strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Strong hands-on experience with Open Plan Professional is highly desirable, together with demonstrated experience developing and integrating Integrated Master Schedules and WBS structures. Experience in schedule risk analysis, critical path and dependency management, Defence capability delivery, ICT project scheduling and One Defence Capability System (ODCS) will be highly regarded.

A current NV1 security clearance is required. Successful candidates will also need to satisfy additional customer-specific security and organisational suitability requirements.

The roles are Canberra-based and predominantly onsite, with working from home available by exception.
