Salary Range: LGO8 ($124,100 - $140,195 per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and experience

About The Role
As the Coordinator Planning Assessment, you will lead a team responsible for delivering high-quality development assessment services and supporting the sustainable growth of Townsville. You will provide expert planning advice, oversee complex development applications and work closely with developers, government agencies and the community to achieve positive outcomes.
This is a key leadership role focused on driving customer-focused service delivery, continuous improvement and operational excellence while ensuring development outcomes align with Council's planning framework and strategic vision.
About You
You are an experienced planning professional with significant expertise in development assessment, statutory planning and the interpretation of planning legislation. A confident and collaborative leader, you have a strong track record of managing high-performing teams, providing expert technical advice, and building effective relationships with stakeholders. Your excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills enable you to navigate complex planning matters while delivering customer-focused outcomes and supporting the sustainable growth of our city.
