Assistant Store Manager / Workshop Manager

The opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager / Workshop Manager to join our Preston franchise store on a full-time basis.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced automotive technician ready to take the next step in their career without leaving the tools behind.

You will help coordinate day-to-day workshop operations, diagnose and repair vehicles, support the workshop team and deal directly with customers.

A key part of the role will be identifying solutions to customer problems during vehicle inspections and confidently communicating and converting recommended repairs into approved workshop jobs. We are looking for someone who can explain the problem, recommend the right solution and ensure we deliver a great result for both the customer and the business.

You will work closely with the Owner across workshop operations, customer service and sales, with the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as your experience and capability develops.

Duties include:

• Supporting the Owner across workshop management, customer service, sales and store operations.

• Coordinating workshop workflow and supporting the workshop team.

• Fault diagnosis and problem solving, particularly suspension, steering and brake issues.

• Conducting Brake, Steering & Suspension inspections and identifying required and recommended repairs.

• Communicating inspection findings and converting recommended repairs into approved work.

• Suspension, steering and brake repairs and component replacement.

• Fitting GVM upgrades, 4x4 lift kits and coilover kits.

• Wheel alignments and quality control.

• Supporting a positive, productive and professional workshop culture.

• Assisting with trade customer relationships and enquiries.
