Accountant

We're looking for an Accountant with 4+ years in Australian public practice who wants to own their client portfolio, mentor junior staff, and have a real say in how we operate.

What you'll actually do:

• Prepare financial statements and tax returns for a diverse portfolio (individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and SMSFs)
• Manage BAS, IAS, and compliance obligations end-to-end
• Use HandiLedger, HandiTax, Xero, and MYOB to deliver efficient, accurate work
• Be the primary client contact for advice and queries—building relationships that last
• Review and mentor junior team members, helping them grow
• Contribute to the firm's continuous improvement—we value your input

What you'll bring:

• ✅ 4+ years in an Australian public practice (essential)
• ✅ Strong HandiLedger & HandiTax experience (essential—we use these daily)
• ✅ Practical experience with SMSF compliance
• ✅ Xero & MYOB proficiency (2+ years practical experience)
• ✅ Excellent communication skills—you can explain tax to a client without confusing them
• ✅ A proactive, problem-solving mindset
• ✅ Experience with GST and margin scheme (preferred but not essential)

Pay: $80,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year

• Public Practice : 3 years (Required)
• Practical MYOB : 2 years (Required)
• Practical Xero : 2 years (Required)
• Practical Handitax & Handiledger: 2 years (Required)
