Insurance Broker/Account Manager

As an Insurance Broker/Account Manager, your role is to

• Provide professional, expert advice and personal service to a diverse range of SME and individual clients in a timely, technically accurate and cost-effective manner  

• Develop rapport and ongoing professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders 

• Manage the ongoing needs of an existing portfolio of mainly commercial but also including rural and domestic business, ensuring portfolio retention and profitability 

• Proactively work to develop new business and generate sales to grow the portfolio 

• Maintain financial management and debtor control of the portfolio 

• Proactively market our services to existing and prospective clients 

• Develop and maintain insurance product knowledge, technical skills and compliance by undertaking ongoing training, qualification upgrades and professional development  

• Complete admin tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail 

• Manage and continuously improve business systems and processes to improve efficiencies 

• Maintain personal accountability 

• Work as part of a team to achieve business / team objectives 

Essential Knowledge & Skills

• Strong technical capability in accordance with current RG 146 requirements including knowledge of insurance products, legislative obligations, claims processes and claims handling 

• Sound knowledge of the Australian insurance broking industry and a comprehensive understanding of the legislative and related governance frameworks 

• High level of computer literacy with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and an ability to adapt quickly to use of prescribed insurance broking software and quoting tools 

• Excellent communication skills  

• Excellent organisation and time management skills with an ability to prioritise and meet deadlines 

• Well-developed analytical / problem solving skills 

• Initiative, sound judgment and responsiveness when completing work tasks and admin functions 

• Attention to detail and accuracy 

• An ability to work in a team environment

Essential Experience

• 3+ years insurance broking experience in the Australian market with a proven track record of success in commercial insurance broking 

• Experience in servicing a diverse portfolio with proven ability to meet sales targets and business retention levels 

Essential Qualifications

• Tier 1 Insurance Broking, Diploma of Insurance Broking preferred or willingness to achieve
