Geochemist

This role can be based in Adelaide, Perth or Toronto with hybrid working from one of our offices.
At Fleet Space Technologies, we understand how critical geochemical and mineralogical information is to the exploration decisions our clients make. We have developed the CometTM mineralogy modelling system in collaboration with Dr Scott Halley, renowned geochemistry consultant, to deliver an advanced mineralogy model based on client geochemical data.

We are looking for a Geochemist to join our team and work directly on client exploration projects. You will build & interpret CometTM mineralogy models that provide information applicable to both vectoring within deposits to guide exploration drilling as well as having implications for geometallurgical domaining at advanced project and mine stages. These mineralogy models can all be interpreted in the context of  Fleet's geophysical datasets to sharpen targeting for exploration teams around the world.

This is a hands on delivery role where you will spend your time on live client projects alongside geologists, geophysicists and client managers to produce interpretations and recommendations for Fleet’s customers.  

What you'll do

• Build and apply thermodynamic mineralogy models to support mineral exploration targeting.
• Provide geochemical input across live client projects, from data review through to interpretation and reporting.
• Integrate geochemical datasets into Fleet's data streams and interpretation workflows.
• Work with Fleet's geologists and geophysicists to bring geochemical and geophysical evidence together into a single coherent interpretation.
• Support client facing team members with geochemical advice, context and recommendations.
• Prepare clear technical material and figures for client deliverables.
• Keep geochemical data handling, QAQC and documentation consistent across projects.

What we are looking for

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in geology /geochemistry. 
• Between 2 to 10 years of experience in a geochemistry roles within mining or mineral exploration companies
• Working knowledge of geochemical data handling, QAQC and interpretation.
• Coding skills are a plus, either AI/vibe coding or hands on ability in Python
• Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to give context and a clear recommendation rather than just a result.
• An organised, detail oriented approach to project work.
• Exposure to geophysical data, or an interest in learning how it complements geochemistry.
