About the role
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Store Manager leads the store team, including the Store 2IC and Customer Service Assistants, to deliver an exceptional customer experience and achieve strong store performance.
You’ll take ownership of overall store performance and operations, including customer service, merchandising, operational standards, compliance, people development and driving sales. As a hands-on leader, you’ll lead from the floor, set the standard for your team and ensure every customer interaction reflects our brand and values.
As Store Manager, you’ll take accountability for the store during your assigned shifts, driving key performance indicators, building customer loyalty and achieving results through your team.
Most importantly, you’ll set the tone for the store – inspiring your team, living our values and creating an environment where both our people and customers can thrive.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead and inspire the team – Recruit, train, develop and retain a high-performing team while identifying opportunities for career growth.
Drive sales & customer experience – Lead the team to deliver exceptional customer service, maximise sales and achieve store KPIs.
Own store performance & profitability – Manage sales, expenses and overall store profitability to achieve business targets.
Manage daily store operations – Ensure smooth and efficient execution of operational processes, policies and company SOPs.
Maintain brand standards – Ensure the store, merchandising and customer environment consistently reflect company and brand standards.
Manage rostering & payroll – Plan and approve staff rosters while ensuring weekly, monthly and annual payroll budgets are maintained.
Lead compliance & cash management – Ensure all cash handling, register procedures, banking, documentation and compliance requirements are followed.
Manage stock & inventory – Oversee receiving, replenishment, stocking, merchandising, inventory accuracy and physical stock management.
Coach & hold the team accountable – Provide regular feedback, coaching and performance management while ensuring team members meet their responsibilities.
Maintain a safe, clean & organised store – Ensure the sales floor, stockroom and staff areas are clean, safe, well maintained and ready for customers.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Proven retail leadership – Ideally 3+ years’ retail management experience, with a track record of leading teams and delivering strong results.
Commercial mindset – Strong numeracy skills with the ability to analyse performance, solve problems and identify opportunities to drive sales and store performance.
Confident communicator – Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
Calm & adaptable – Able to prioritise, multitask and make confident decisions in a fast-paced retail environment.
Systems & process focused – Confident using computers, printers and point-of-sale systems, with the ability to follow and execute merchandise layouts, rosters and standard operating procedures.
Hands-on & physically active – Comfortable being on your feet and moving throughout the store and stockroom, including safely handling stock up to 10kg and using equipment such as trolleys, pallet jacks and ladders where required.
WHAT YOU BRING
Lead by example – Set the standard for professionalism, presentation, customer service and behaviour while living our company values.
Sales energy – Create a positive sales culture and motivate your team to achieve goals and deliver results.
Ownership mindset – Take responsibility for decisions, actions and outcomes, with strong follow-through and accountability.
Develop people – Build confidence in your team, delegate effectively and create opportunities for people to learn and grow.
Embrace change – Bring a positive, solutions-focused approach and help your team adapt and succeed.
People first – Enjoy working with people, building relationships and creating genuine connections with customers and colleagues.
