Get Behind the Controls: Quarry Operators

Hillery Group is looking for multiple experienced Quarry Operators, with opportunities across the Whitsundays, Collinsville and other regional Queensland locations.

You’ll play a hands-on role in keeping quarry operations safe, productive and efficient, working alongside experienced colleagues as part of a practical and supportive team.

More specifically, you will:

• Operate quarry mobile plant safely and efficiently
• Operate crushing and screening equipment as required
• Complete pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks
• Support daily production and material movement requirements
• Monitor plant performance and report maintenance issues
• Maintain safe work practices and site compliance requirements
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, maintenance and operational teams

Ideally, you’ll bring experience across crushing and screening equipment and/or mobile plant such as loaders, excavators, dozers and water carts.

Lead from the Front: Quarry Manager

Hillery Group is also looking for an experienced Quarry Manager for its North Gregory operations, with the opportunity to be based within the Whitsundays region.

This is a senior operational leadership opportunity with responsibility across safety, people, production, compliance and continuous improvement. Working closely with executive leadership while maintaining a strong on-site presence, you’ll have the autonomy and trust to lead your team and influence quarry performance.

More specifically, you will:

• Lead quarry and plant operations across safety, production and compliance
• Lead, mentor and develop operational teams
• Manage production planning, budgets, resources and plant performance
• Drive a strong safety culture and maintain statutory compliance
• Build productive relationships with regulators, clients and internal stakeholders
• Coordinate maintenance activities to support plant reliability and productivity
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
